Stephen Glegg, president of Stirling Woodworks, was recently awarded the Above and Beyond Award at the 2011 AWMAC BC Awards of Excellence.Stephen recently represented AWMAC at the 2011 Woodworking Expo in Toronto October where he presented the new Sustainable Architectural Woodwork Certificate Program (SAW). The seminar encourages the use of environmentally sustainable materials and processes within the architectural woodwork industry.Bill Glegg started Stirling Woodworks in 1986. It was his vision to build a business that would provide quality custom woodwork products to the construction industry. Bill's integrity, management skills, love of technology and desire to provide the best quality possible continues to be the foundations of the company. Steve Glegg started the company with his dad and has been the president since 1998. Steve brings the company the following assets:- National diploma in the Building Technology Construction Management- Trade qualifications in Benchwork and Joinery- 20 years experience in the millwork industry- Past president of AWMAC-BC- Past national board member of AWMAC- Current chair of the international Sustainable Architectural Woodwork committee

Design and Planning: With our vast knowledge of millwork design and AWMAC standards we can help you develop a design that will meet your requirements and we can make suggestions that can reduce costs, improve function and durability. Estimating: Our estimating department can provide detailed competitive quotations quickly and accurately. Our attention to detail at the outset can identify problem areas and reduce surprises later in the process.Engineering: During this stage our engineering team begin to produce shop drawings. We work closely with the design authority and project owner to insure the design intent is maintained. With our CAD stations we are able to produce accurate, detailed shop drawings. We have found that good shop drawings are a must to ensure a quality product and the electronic format makes collaboration easy no matter what the distance.Purchasing: Over the years we have developed an extensive supply chain that's able to quickly and cost effectively provide us with high quality and sometimes unusual products in an appropriate timeline. Manufacturing / CNC Machining: The back bone of our company is our skilled team of journeymen and apprentices who have the training and experience to produce award winning custom products. With state of the art CNC machining we are able to reduce lead times, and produce complex products that would otherwise not be possible.Custom Finishing: Our in-house finishing department ensures that your product will be finished on time and to same exacting standards as the rest of the project. It also gives us the ability to very quickly product custom colors and specialty finishes. We feel that our experience and attention to detail at this stage is what sets us apart.Quality Control: Throughout the entire manufacturing process everyone is given the authority to reject a defective part, but just in case something slips by, every piece is inspected again before it's wrapped for shipping.Installation: In order to ensure your high standards are maintained through the project, we can offer complete installation services.
